Who am I?

Hi I'm Lilian Weng (翁荔), a Data Scientist @ Dropbox. I used to be a Ph.D. student in Complex Networks and Systems, School of Informatics and Computing, Indiana University Bloomington. I'm a member of the Network & Agent Networks (NaN) Research Group, Center for Complex Networks and Systems Research (CNetS). My Research interests broadly include: web mining, machine learning, social computing, social network analysis, social application, complex networks/modeling, and human computer interaction. As a PhD student, I'm closely working with Prof. Filippo Menczer, Alessandro Flammini, and Yong-Yeol Ahn on various projects related with information diffusion, social contagion, and modeling. Details on projects can be found in Projects section.

The more comfortable we become with being stupid, the deeper we will wade into the unknown and the more likely we are to make big discoveries.

Martin A. Schwartz, The importance of stupidity in scientific research.

Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.
